Founded in 1923, Cambridge Nursery School provides a play-based program in a nurturing atmosphere. As a parent cooperative, it emphasizes learning through play, fostering curiosity, self-confidence, and critical thinking. The school values a welcoming environment that respects and challenges young children. Originally started by Cambridge mothers, including Dr. Abigail Eliot, it consolidated into its Hillside Place location in 1977 and continues to thrive.
Mission
Cambridge Nursery School provides a rich, play-based program in a warm, nurturing atmosphere where children learn through play, practice new skills, express feelings, resolve conflicts, and become confident, critical thinkers. Teachers create a welcoming environment that respects, challenges, and nurtures young children through a rich and varied program.
