Canal Tours
Conducts spring and fall tours to expand members' knowledge of the Hoosier canal system. These tours feature speakers, videos, and explorations of historic canal sites.
Publications & Website
Publishes 'The Tumble' bimonthly, and maintains a website (indcanal.org) with information on Indiana canals.
Educational Outreach
Places informative signage on Indiana canal sites and gives presentations in elementary classrooms.

The Canal Society of Indiana, est. 1982, unites those interested in Indiana's historic canals. Through tours, research, and its newsletter, 'The Tumble,' the Society interprets canal history, preserves canal remains, and supports restoration projects. They collaborate with agencies on trail development and linear parks along the Wabash and Maumee Rivers, actively supporting canal preservation and restoration.
