The Cape Charles Rosenwald School Restoration Initiative, founded in 2017, works to restore the historic Cape Charles Rosenwald School, built in 1928 for African-American children. They aim to create a multicultural, multigenerational hub with a nonprofit incubator, workforce development center, museum, and event space, reopening in Fall 2025. Their mission is to unify Virginia's Eastern Shore through community partnerships and opportunities for fellowship, lifelong learning and economic empowerment.
