The Capitol Area Recreation Association (CARA) provides outdoor recreational activities for youth and adults in Augusta, Maine. Founded in 1979, CARA offers playing fields and facilities for baseball, softball, soccer, basketball, lacrosse, and more. It's a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization supported by local businesses, residents, and state employees.
Mission
For 50 years, the Capital Area Recreation Association has been at the heart of outdoor sports and recreation in Augusta. Built and maintained through the tireless efforts of local citizens, businesses and contractors, CARA has become a symbol of what a community can achieve together.
