The Centerport Fire Department, serving the Centerport, NY community, traces its roots back to 1898. Officially incorporated that same year, it has evolved from a volunteer crew with a hand pumper and a railroad tire alarm to a modern force of approximately 100 active members. The department provides fire suppression and emergency medical services, responding to around 690 calls each year. The Centerport Fire District was formed in 1924.
