About
Challenge the Wind Youth Sailing Program, now the Detroit Community Sailing Center (DCSC), was founded in 1994. Its mission is to teach sailing to individuals who would not typically have the opportunity, focusing on youth aged 10-17. The program offers learn-to-sail classes, including water safety and STEM topics, utilizing a fleet of Optis, 420's, and Flying Scots. In 2023, the program served 60 children and 40 adults.
Mission
Challenge the Wind Youth Sailing Program provides learn-to-sail instruction for individuals who wouldn't normally have the opportunity, incorporating water safety and STEM education.
