ChildBuilders, founded in 1974, promotes mental health and prevents abuse by empowering children, parents, and teachers with assertiveness, emotional control, empathy, resilience, and conflict resolution skills. Originally CAN-DO-IT, it addressed the lack of mental health treatment for Houston's children. Programs include 4S Early Childhood, 4S Elementary, Parents Under Construction, and Build to Nurture.
