Founded in 1971, Community Film Workshop of Chicago mentors underserved youth in media. CFWC empowers citizens through media arts programming, offering hands-on training and workshops. CFWC has provided a start for many people of color and women in media. CFWC continues to implement film festivals, youth programs and provides equipment access, honoring founder Jim Taylor's legacy.
Mission
Community Film Workshop of Chicago provides access to media production that supports the development of independent media artists in underserved and underrepresented communities. They increase access and equity in media and give people of color, youth, and women the tools to create media and transform their communities.
