About
Established in 1853, Cortland Rural Cemetery began with 12 acres and the reburial of 800 early settlers. Today, it spans 50 acres, memorializing 18,000 individuals. Reflecting the 19th-century "garden" cemetery concept, it offers a welcoming space for remembrance. The cemetery is the final resting place for notable figures like Governor Nathan Miller and veterans from various American wars.
