The Council of Italian-American Societies of Summit County, founded in Akron in 1947, unites 12 Italian-American societies. It is dedicated to celebrating Italian heritage and culture through various events, including the Summit County Italian-American Festival, voted the best festival for 11 years straight. The organization also hosts Italian Heritage Month events, Christmas parties, scholarship breakfasts, and participates in Columbus Day celebrations.
