About
The Delphos Canal Commission, founded in 1991, is a volunteer organization dedicated to preserving and showcasing the history of the Miami and Erie Canal, Delphos, and its surrounding areas. It grew from a youth project in 1987 that raised a canal boat hull. Today, the commission operates a museum displaying local history, canal artifacts, and the restored canal boat hull, Marguerite.
Mission
The Delphos Canal Commission is a volunteer organization that preserves, restores, recreates, and tells the history of the Miami and Erie Canal, Delphos, and the surrounding area. The Delphos Canal Commission Museum continues to tell the evolving history and heritage of the Delphos area through displays, exhibits, and presentations.
