About
The Detroit Regional Yacht-Racing Association (DRYA), est. 1912, promotes boating, yachting, and sail racing among amateur sailors in the US and Canada. Originally formed to resolve regatta calendar conflicts, DRYA sets high seamanship standards, encourages yacht ownership, improves race quality via sailing instructions and support to member clubs, and facilitates communication. DRYA also promotes fair racing through handicapping rules and acts as a liaison between clubs and civic bodies.

Established in 1912, the Detroit Regional Yacht-Racing Association encourages and promotes boating, yachting, and sail racing by amateur sailors in the United States and Canada. They strive to establish high standards of skill, improve racing quality, and foster communication among member clubs.
