About
Douglas Animal Welfare Group (DAWG), founded in 2000, betters the lives of Douglas County animals. This volunteer-based nonprofit relies on donations to support animals at the Douglas County Animal Shelter by providing funds for spay/neuter, medical care, training, and improved living conditions. DAWG volunteers visit the shelter daily, providing exercise, affection, and training. They facilitate adoptions and offer community outreach programs, including low-cost spay/neuter, and educate the community on responsible pet ownership.
Mission
Douglas Animal Welfare Group initiates programs and services to help the community with the care of their pets. DAWG believes that such assistance may reduce the shelter animal population with special spay and neuter programs or short term assistance.
