Provides training to prepare and certify families for adoption, including Exploring Adoption seminars required by many states.

Founded in 1967 by Father Paul Engel, Downey Side focuses on finding permanent, loving homes for older children (ages 7-17), children of color, children with emotional/physical challenges, and sibling groups in NY and NJ. Downey Side has helped place over 8000 children into successful long-term family relationships by providing training, certification, support groups, and financial subsidies to prospective parents throughout the adoption process.
