The Environmental Defense Center (EDC), est. 1977 after the 1969 Santa Barbara oil spill, protects and enhances the environment of California's south central coast. Through education, advocacy, and legal action, EDC addresses climate & energy, land & water, ocean, and environmental justice issues in Ventura, Santa Barbara, & San Luis Obispo counties.
