Florida Dance Theatre, founded in 1995 and based in Lakeland, was Polk County's only professional dance company. It offered dance performances and training. Unfortunately, the company closed in late June 2025 after 31 years due to funding loss.
Mission
Florida Dance Theatre develops community through dance performance, education, and outreach. Discipline and artistic expression are emphasized in Lakeland.
