FREDERICK DOUGLASS MEMORIAL PARK INC, founded in 2016, carries forward the mission of its visionary founders by actively working to secure funding and support for the park’s ongoing preservation and enhancement. They believe in celebrating heritage and ensuring future generations connect with the stories of African Americans. The park was founded as a protest against segregating the dead based on race and color and opened in 1935.
