Friedens Fire Company, est. 1926, protects Slatington, PA. Known for its rich history, including Lorraine Merkel, PA's first woman firefighter, and L. Jacob Merkel, honored as the US's longest active living volunteer. Today, under Chief Joel Merkel, with Deputy Chief & President Jeremy and firefighter Brent, the company continues its commitment to fire and emergency services.
