Founded in 1986, the Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory (FOPCON) is a nonprofit dedicated to promoting interest in the Oak Park Conservatory. They offer educational and recreational programs and support projects that benefit the Conservatory, which houses over 3,000 plants and draws 50,000+ visitors annually. The Conservatory, built in 1929, was saved from demolition thanks to community support.
