The Gouverneur Agricultural & Mechanical Society, founded in 1859, hosts the Gouverneur Fair. It aims to educate the public on agriculture, horticulture, domestic arts, and related sciences through its annual fair. The Society merged with the St. Lawrence County Fair in 1934 and continues to promote agricultural activities and community engagement at its Gouverneur location.
Mission
The Gouverneur Agricultural & Mechanical Society hosts the Gouverneur and St. Lawrence County Fair annually, continuing a tradition of over 165 years. It was formed when the St. Lawrence County Fair merged with the Gouverneur Agricultural & Mechanical Society.
