The Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame, founded in 2005 by Bill Dooley, honors outstanding athletes and individuals who have significantly contributed to sports in the Greater Wilmington area. The GWSHOF recognizes and educates the community about local sports achievements.
Mission
The Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame's mission is to celebrate individuals who have achieved excellence in sports, thereby enhancing the reputation of the Greater Wilmington Area. Each year, the organization awards four scholarships to talented athletes from Wilmington.
