The Groton Historical Society, founded in 1894 and renamed the Groton History Center in 2016, preserves Groton's history through artifacts, documents, and memorabilia. Housed in the Boutwell House (gifted in 1933), it serves as a museum, publishes historical materials, partners with local organizations, provides research assistance, and offers educational tours and public programs.
Mission
The Groton Historical Society collects, preserves, and displays objects and records from Groton. They maintain a museum to current standards and familiarize the community with Groton's history through exhibits and educational programs.
