About
Groton Open Space Association (GOSA), founded in 1967, safeguards Southeastern Connecticut's forests, streams, and wildlife. As a volunteer-driven nonprofit, GOSA acquires, improves, and maintains open spaces for recreation and education. GOSA has helped protect almost 2000 acres, including the Haley Farm and Bluff Point State Parks, and manages properties like the Merritt Family Forest, Sheep Farm, Candlewood Ridge and Avery Farm.
Mission
Groton Open Space Association protects local forests, streams, and wildlife by acquiring and maintaining open space. They provide areas for passive recreation and education, fostering an appreciation of nature within the community.
