About
The Grundy County Historical Society, founded in 1979 (though earlier iterations existed in 1923 and 1948), preserves and displays objects related to the county's cultural, social, geological, and anthropological past. Initially housed in the courthouse, the collection found a permanent home in the Coleman Hardware Building in 2008, with an expansion in 2018. The museum collects items and preserves the history of Grundy County.
Mission
The Grundy County Historical Society Museum's mission is to house, preserve, and exhibit objects pertaining to the County’s history: cultural, social, geological, and anthropological.
