Founded in 1977, the Historic Neighborhood Preservation Program champions the preservation of Stamford's historic buildings, neighborhoods, roads, and vistas. The organization has worked to protect Stamford’s unique built environment by advocating for historic buildings and documenting the city’s historic resources. They have saved many houses and other buildings over the years, including advocating for the designation of Stamford’s South End neighborhood as an historic district.
