The Historical Society of Rockland County, founded in 1966, is a museum and educational organization dedicated to preserving and sharing Rockland County's rich history. It collects, preserves, and exhibits artifacts and documents. The Society sponsors educational programs and publications and promotes the preservation of historic buildings and sites. The HSRC operates from a four-acre site in New City, featuring a history museum and the 1832 Jacob Blauvelt House.
