The Illinois Association of Regional Councils (ILARC), established in 1977, represents regional planning agencies at the state and national levels. As a not-for-profit, ILARC promotes the interests of regional councils of government, fosters strategic planning, and provides a forum for information exchange. ILARC advocates for its members before the Illinois Statehouse and the U.S. Congress, collaborating with agencies on community development policies and fostering regional cooperation to improve the quality of life for all Illinois residents.
