About
The Illinois Cemetery and Funeral Home Association (ICFHA), established in 1928 (originally as ICA), promotes fellowship and high ethical standards in cemetery administration. It addresses mutual problems, exchanges ideas, and provides a code of ethics. ICFHA offers the first state-approved Crematory Operator's Certification Program and developed the Illinois Cemetery Operations Manual. The association also took a proactive role with the Cemetery Oversight Act, designed to prevent an event like the Burr Oak Cemetery incident from happening again.
Mission
The Illinois Cemetery and Funeral Home Association promotes fellowship among members, maintains high ethical standards, and facilitates the exchange of ideas for cemetery development, operations, and management, all for mutual benefit and protection.
