The Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Fraternity Lodge No 6 in Portland, ME, was founded in 1886. Dedicated to "visit the sick, relieve the distressed, bury the dead and educate the orphan," the IOOF aims to improve and elevate humanity. Through various programs, they focus on community-specific projects while participating in global initiatives like educational foundations, youth programs, housing, arthritis research, and support for SOS Children’s Villages.
