About
The Institute for Young Dramatic Voices, founded in 2006 by Dolora Zajick, Rosemary Mathews, and Sarah Agler, is a 3-week intensive summer program hosted by the University of Nevada Reno. It trains young singers with large voices for international opera careers. The program offers tailored instruction, collaborative teaching, and guidance from experienced professionals, focusing on voice lessons, music fundamentals, diction, acting, fitness, and professionalism. Graduates find success in opera houses worldwide.
Mission
Born of a desire to train young dramatic singers and help them reach the world stage, the Institute is an innovative 3-week intensive summer program of study generously hosted by the University of Nevada for singers with large or unusual voices ages 15–36 at varying levels of vocal development.
