The International Association of Indianapolis 500 Oldtimers, founded in 1961, aims to guide the younger racing generation and spread knowledge about the Indy 500. It was founded in advance of the 50th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race.

Founded in 1961, the Indianapolis 500 Oldtimers provides guidance for the younger racing generation, brings recognition to outstanding individuals at the Indianapolis 500, promotes fellowship among its members, and furthers the interests of automobile racing.
