The Kemet Foundation, founded in 2009, supports institutions promoting African and African-American contributions to history, science, literature, and the arts. It is associated with the Afrikan Children’s Advanced Learning Center (ACALC) in Oakland, CA, which was formed in 1988 to nurture children, enhance self-esteem, and produce future leaders. ACALC’s curriculum is rooted in MAAT (Truth, Justice, Righteousness) and emphasizes African heritage.
