The Kutztown Area Historical Society, founded in 1974-75, preserves and promotes the history of the Kutztown region. Housed in the 1892 Public School Building, a National Register of Historic Places landmark, the society maintains a museum, archives, and library with local artifacts, photos, and historical publications. They educate and engage the public through events, educational programs, and outreach, fostering an appreciation for the area's unique Pennsylvania German heritage.
