Literacy Volunteers of Greater New Haven, founded in 2004, provides free tutoring to adults in Greater New Haven, Meriden, Wallingford, and the Valley towns. They train volunteer tutors who provide instruction in Basic Literacy and English as a Second Language (ESOL). LVAGNH fosters partnerships with adult learners, tutors, and communities that enable individuals and families to achieve their educational, career, and personal goals.
Mission
Literacy Volunteers of Greater New Haven provides free tutoring to help adults improve speaking, reading and writing English in Greater New Haven, Meriden, Wallingford and the Valley towns. After 50 years of service, the organization will officially close by June 30, 2025.
