Literacy Volunteers of Illinois, founded in 1983, is a statewide organization committed to developing and supporting volunteer literacy programs. They help families, adults, and out-of-school teens improve their literacy skills. LVI also provides Jump Start for delinquent youth, increasing literacy skills through volunteer programs and Americorps tutors.
