Ruth Borun Concert Orchestra
An orchestra for intermediate players refining their technique. It is led by Assistant Conductor Jorge Padrón and performs arrangements of classical and contemporary music.
Symphony Orchestra
An advanced ensemble for experienced young musicians led by Artistic Director and Conductor Russell Steinberg. Tackles professional-level symphonic repertoire and premieres new works.

Los Angeles Youth Orchestra, founded in 1999, cultivates a lifelong passion for music in young musicians (ages 8-18) through classical and contemporary performance. It features two ensembles: the Ruth Borun Concert Orchestra (intermediate) and the Symphony Orchestra (advanced). LAYO contributes to the community and advances culture through music education and performance opportunities.

The Los Angeles Youth Orchestra contributes to our communities and advances the future of culture by developing and nurturing a passion for music in young musicians that lasts a lifetime through the study and performance of classical and contemporary music.
