The Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Committee, Inc. of Bergen County, NJ, formed after Dr. King's assassination in 1968, hosts annual inclusive events remembering Dr. King’s life and raising awareness of human rights. The committee recognizes community organizations and awards scholarships to high school students who excel academically and contribute to their community through volunteerism.
