The McClure Bean Soup Fair, started in 1891, is a living memorial to all war veterans. Originating with Civil War veterans, the fair is now run by the Sons of Union War Veterans and the citizens of McClure. Serving bean soup and honoring Pennsylvania's agricultural heritage, it was named an official PA State Fair in 2008 and continues to welcome tens of thousands each year.
Mission
The McClure Bean Soup Fair showcases the best of Pennsylvania agriculture and educates visitors about agriculture. The fair is a living memorial to all veterans of all wars, with annual celebrations started by Civil War veterans.
