Mentor Programme
{Mentorship programme is designed to help teens find the career path that best suits them.}
Orchestra Program
Provides opportunities for young musicians to develop their talents through ensemble performance. Offers various levels, from beginner to advanced.
Band Program
Offers instruction and performance opportunities in wind and percussion instruments. Ensembles range from concert band to symphonic band.
String Ensemble Program
Focuses on string instrument instruction and performance in small ensemble settings. Includes groups like Vivaldi Strings and Baroque Strings.
Jazz Program
Provides instruction and performance opportunities in jazz music. Includes both a Jazz Ensemble and a Jazz Band.
Percussion Program
Offers instruction and ensemble opportunities for percussionists. Includes MYSticksPerc and Percussion Studio.

The Detroit Metropolitan Youth Symphony provides an advanced, challenging, and fun youth ensemble experience, stimulating musical development and supplementing school programs. Their mission is to cultivate a lifelong love of music in students grades 2-12.

Since 1982 the Detroit Metropolitan Youth Symphony has developed students from nearly 50 communities. Our mission is to provide an advanced youth ensemble experience that is challenging and fun, stimulates musical development, and supplements the school program.
