Founded in 1969 and located in Washington County, MD, Mt. Aetna Volunteer Fire Department (Company 16) protects 3500 people in a 35 square mile region. Primarily serving residential, agricultural, and park areas, the department is staffed by volunteers and weekday drivers, and is a member of the Washington County Volunteer Fire & Rescue Association and the Maryland State Firefighters' Association.
Mission
The Mt. Aetna Volunteer Fire Department protects property and lives by extinguishing, preventing, and/or suppressing fires. They also provide rescue services in the Mt. Aetna and Beaver Creek areas.
