NABJ Chicago Chapter, founded in 2016, unites Black journalists in the Chicago area, fostering truth, excellence, and equality in media. It strengthens ties between Black journalists, enhances skills for career advancement, encourages students in journalism, and offers scholarships. Programs include events, mentoring, and job opportunities.
Mission
NABJ Chicago brings together Chicago-area African-American journalists dedicated to truth and excellence in newsgathering and reporting, and equality in the media industry. The organization strengthens ties between Blacks in majority and Black-owned media, assists journalists in upgrading their skills, encourages students to pursue journalism careers, and awards scholarships.
