The Nags Head Surf Fishing Club, est. 1978, promotes fishing, fellowship, and sportsmanship. They host an annual surf fishing tournament each October and a free youth tournament every June, encouraging a love of fishing in all ages.

To promote a greater interest, good fellowship and sportsmanship among fishermen and fisherwomen.
