An introductory group coaching program for beginning strings, brass, and woodwind players, focusing on building strong foundational music skills and instrument technique.
PREPARATORY STRINGS
An introductory orchestral experience for string players at an advanced beginner level, refining technical and musical skills in a large ensemble.
PREPARATORY WIND ENSEMBLE
An introductory orchestral experience for wind, brass, and percussion players at an advanced beginner level, refining technical and musical skills in a large ensemble.
SINFONIA
A program designed to support students transitioning from intermediate ensembles to more advanced groups, strengthening musicianship and ensemble confidence.
Youth Symphony
The flagship ensemble for advanced student musicians, performing challenging collegiate-level orchestral repertoire and developing high-level musicianship.
Chamber Ensembles: Strings, Brass & Woodwinds
Advanced chamber ensembles bringing together accomplished strings, brass, and woodwind musicians to perform collegiate-level repertoire in small ensemble settings.

The Napa Valley Youth Symphony (NVYS), established in 2002, offers young musicians opportunities for artistic growth through rehearsals and performances. NVYS has performed at Carnegie Hall twice and toured internationally. It provides programs for various skill levels, from beginner strings, brass, and woodwind players to advanced musicians, including chamber ensembles.
Mission
The Napa Valley Youth Symphony provides young musicians from diverse backgrounds exciting opportunities for personal and artistic growth through challenging and inspiring rehearsal and performances. They enhance the community educationally and artistically.
