The National Service Animals Monument Corporation, founded in 2011, aims to honor service animals and their handlers with a national memorial in the nation's Capital. Originally named Critter Lovers at Work (CLAW), the organization shifted its focus to service animals. They offer an educational program highlighting the roles and importance of these animals throughout history and currently have congressional authorization to build the monument.

The National Service Animals Monument aims to create a national memorial in the nation’s Capital to educate, inspire, and honor the work, contributions, and sacrifices of service animals and their handlers throughout U.S. history, and to celebrate the human-animal bond.
