New Mexico First, founded in 1987, was a nonpartisan organization that engaged New Mexicans in public policy through town halls and forums. They addressed critical state issues and created recommendations for policymakers. Co-founded by U.S. Senators Pete Domenici and Jeff Bingaman, it fostered consensus-building.
