New School of Music, Austin, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2013, provides accessible music education in a non-competitive environment. Originally founded in 1982, it closed during the late 1980s recession but was relaunched in 2013. NSM enriches the Austin community through music education and community engagement.
Mission
The New School of Music shares the gift of music by connecting professional musicians with students of all ages for lifelong study and enjoyment, while providing exceptional music instruction to underserved youth.
