The Okefenokee Heritage Center in Waycross, GA, established in 1975, is a regional art, history, and cultural center situated on 20 acres. It promotes appreciation of the arts and understanding of the region’s history through exhibits, programs, and activities. The center serves the surrounding Okefenokee area with exhibits on Native American history, Black heritage, and local fine art.
Mission
The Okefenokee Heritage Center is a cultural art center and regional history museum for all people, which seeks to promote an appreciation of the arts and an increased understanding of history and development of the Okefenokee region through its cultural and educational programs, collections, and exhibitions.
