The Desert Sheriff's Search and Rescue (DSSAR) is a volunteer team serving Riverside County. DSSAR responds to wilderness and urban emergencies with trained volunteers. Committed to service, training, and cooperation, DSSAR maintains readiness for search, rescue, and incident response, prioritizing safety. They are located in Palm Desert and were founded in 1995.
Mission
The Desert Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team (DSSAR) is a group of volunteers trained and ready to respond to wilderness and urban emergencies. They are committed to service-above-self, perpetual training, and inter-agency cooperation to maintain a constant state of readiness for search, rescue, incident response and above all else, safety.
