About
Patrol Squadron (VP) 45, the Pelicans, based at NAS Jacksonville, FL, was established in 1942. Their mission: to kill ships and submarines when directed, employing combat-ready aircraft and aircrews. VP-45 has a rich history, including participation in Project Mercury and operations during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Mission
The Patron Four-Five Association provides information about the U.S. Navy Patrol Squadron VP-45, allowing former shipmates to reconnect and re-establish friendships. The Association publishes a newsletter, preserves squadron history, and holds biennial reunions.
