About
The Philadelphia Chamber Ensemble, founded in 1977 by Donald and Margarita Montanaro, is the oldest continuously performing chamber ensemble in the Delaware Valley. Inspired by the Marlboro Music Festival, they sought to create an intimate musical environment, showcasing diverse instrument combinations and rarely heard works. The ensemble includes strings, winds, harp, and piano, often featuring guest artists and US premieres. They celebrated their 30th anniversary by commissioning "Isfahan" by Behzad Ranjbaran.
Mission
The Philadelphia Chamber Ensemble is the oldest continuously performing chamber ensemble in the Delaware Valley, now celebrating its forty-seventh season.
